IMF General Intern Interview Questions
& Process

After I sent in my application, I first did a HireVue interview where the questions were prerecorded. Then, I had a chat with the team to see if I was a good fit. They told me about the project and we talked about my research interests.

The interview process included preliminary interviews, final interviews, and some other assessments I'm not sure about. I received an invite for the preliminary interviews and want to know what they will ask in the first round.

I applied for the MBA Intern role through a resume submission at a campus recruiting fair. About two weeks later, I received a call for a phone interview, which was entirely based on my resume. They asked for every single detail about the points mentioned on my resume. Then, I was asked to submit some documents showing my previous work using tools like Visio and PowerPoint. A week after that, I was invited for the final round at the IMF global headquarters in Washington DC, which is one of the most amazing offices I've ever seen! The same person interviewed me for the final round. It was a very intellectual interview, lasting about 2 hours, and they asked detailed questions about the technology I've used, my MBA studies, and some behavioral questions. It was a calm experience and I didn't feel any pressure. I received the offer three weeks later and happily accepted the internship.
