First, I had to do a self-recorded video answering some questions. After that, I met with two supervisors for an interview, and then there was one final interview with the director. They gave me study material and I had to answer questions about possible scenarios parents might ask about, based on that material.

I applied and got a one-way recorded interview pretty fast, it was short. Then a few weeks later, I had a 1:1 Zoom interview which was standard and comfortable. After that, I had another interview with the same person and someone else. They wanted me to know their schools and asked me questions about them using mock scenarios, and I also had to do some mock grad plans. I was feeling good about it. They finished with some casual questions like favorite holiday. I thought I nailed it and was expecting an offer. I was told I'd hear back in a week or two, but after 2.5 weeks of no word, I messaged the hiring manager. No response. Then I got a generic email saying they weren't moving forward. I was bummed because I thought my 3 interviews went well and I have the experience, and I wanted to know why. Disappointed.

I did an online recorded interview, and they decided to move forward with an interview with a supervisor and someone from the academic advising department. During the process, I was asked to learn about their 4 online courses. Before the video interview with the supervisor, I was given 3 mock transcripts to create graduation plans for and decide which student would fit into which of their schools. The mock transcripts themselves are pretty standard for an academic advising role. The challenge was memorizing the differences between their online schools and explaining where each student would best fit. They mentioned that having your child at home while working can be difficult, which is understandable, but also kind of funny given the low pay ($19/hr) doesn't make daycare an option. After the first video interview, I got an email to meet with their AP for one of their schools. I replied, but the email bounced back. I tried reaching out again with no response. Finally, after two months, I got an email saying they chose someone else. It was good they eventually sent an email, but I had already started a new job a month prior. Overall, it was a frustrating and negative experience.
