Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Imagen Technologies.
Recruiter
It was a horrible candidate experience. The process moved really slow, like 30 days to even get a response and then another 23 days just to get to the hiring manager screen. Super inefficient too, with 2 recruiters doing a screen instead of one, and they asked the same questions. The hiring manager was late and kept cutting me off every 30-60 seconds, making it frantic. They took 9 days to respond after that. When I followed up 4 days later, I got an OOO notice that the whole recruiting team was offsite, and nobody bothered to tell me. 5 days after that, instead of a real response, I got a generic system email saying they went with someone else. It felt impersonal, signed by 'The Imagen Recruiting Team,' and no one even called. It was a terrible way to update someone after asking them to invest 4 hours meeting with 3 people.

Talent Acquisition Specialist
This company's hiring process is really poorly managed and needs experienced recruiters. I spent over 4.5 hours in interviews and was told there were still three more rounds to go, which is excessive, even for top tech companies. They kept asking me the same questions across all interviews, showing a lack of direction on what they're looking for. The live case studies were unclear in their objectives, and the lack of company insight made them a waste of time. The CEO interviewing on weekends is a red flag for work-life balance. The entire process took a month and a half, with more weeks of interviews ahead. I got and accepted another offer in half the time. They're going to struggle to attract candidates when the market improves.
- Can you provide a summary of your resume?
- Tell me about your background as presented in your resume.
- For each interviewer, be prepared to go through your resume.
Talent Acquisition Coordinator
The whole interview process was thorough and very thoughtful. The talent team was responsive and kept me updated on next steps. At first, I thought the 3-hour interview was intimidating but it definitely felt like being immersed in the role for a few hours. I thought that was a good way for a candidate to evaluate if this a good fit for them. It was a great experience for me and I learned a lot in the process as well.
- The first two hours included a writing case and a prioritization case.
- What was your toughest feedback?
- Tell me about a time when you had to give feedback.
