Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IMA Financial Group.
Account Manager
There were three rounds of interviews, but none were particularly challenging. More than anything it seemed like they were looking for a good culture fit. The first round was with a hiring manager. The second was with the office manager. The third was with the person who would be my direct manager.
- What is my Excel proficiency?
Account Manager
I was quite disappointed in the interview process. The leader that interviewed me was extremely robotic and made no eye contact during our zoom call. She seemed overly stressed and had difficulty presenting a personal connection. For a company that prides themselves in a work-life balance, it was a very mundane experience with no real energy. Although I was given an offer, I declined, as I felt this was an indicator of what the work environment would present.
- Can you elaborate on your technical skills?
Account Manager
I talked to the recruiter and they said they'd pass my info to the hiring manager and I should hear back in a week. Two months later, I heard back, and the hiring manager wanted to interview me. I interviewed with the hiring manager and team lead, and it went well. They told me the next steps. A week later, I followed up and found out the recruiter left the company, and I got an automated message. I haven't heard anything since, so I assume the job was filled and they were just going through the motions. That's how professionalism works, I guess.
