Intern
I sent my resume to the head of the department. He replied me in 10 mins and invited me for an interview. First round: an 90-min excel test. Second round: a 45-min interview with two economists. The interviewers were nice but asked very technical questions, which was out of my expectation, but I did well and got the job.
- Regarding the current global portfolio allocation trend, what are your thoughts?
Intern
Interviewed by the director of the MENA department. It was very direct and to the point. We discussed my experience, the projects I've worked on, and my understanding of balance of payment, monetary policy, and the motivations behind capital flow. It was a very productive discussion. The interview is still ongoing, but I feel like I will be offered a position.
- Can you walk me through the credit market project you did?
- What are the motivations for capital flow?
- What has the Federal Reserve been doing?
Intern
You'll be asked about your past economics research work and they'll check your modeling skills. You'll also be asked how to assess a country's risk control ability, and they'll ask about your data processing, cross-checking, or other related data skills.
- How would you evaluate a nation's capacity for risk management?
- What are your data processing and cross-checking skills?
