Software Engineer
It started with a phone call where I spoke to an engineer. They asked me some behavioral and technical questions, but they weren't too difficult. After that, I was given a take-home assignment. I completed it and sent it back, and they confirmed they received it. But then, I was totally ghosted. I even followed up after two weeks, and heard nothing back. It was super unprofessional. I took time out of my busy schedule to do the assignment, and they couldn't even bother to tell me they weren't moving forward? And they just ignored my email? Crazy. Apparently, this is how they do things. I was talking to another engineer, and he said they ghosted him too after a few interviews. It's a shame.
- Tell me about OOP.
- What do you know about REST APIs?
- Can you describe your SQL knowledge?
Software Engineer
I applied through cocubes and was selected based on my score. The interview took place in Gurgaon in January 2019. First, there was a company presentation, followed by a group discussion (GD) on topics like bitcoin, India's readiness for cashless transactions, and the mee too movement. In the GD, it was important to speak up and not be too aggressive, as harsh candidates were eliminated. The GD focused on speaking skills. Then, I had a technical interview that lasted about 30-45 minutes, covering puzzles (like the cake cutting puzzle), Java, DBMS, and project-related questions. This interview was smooth. After that, I had another round which was both technical and managerial, again asking about projects, some puzzles, one coding question, and DBMS. It was a full-day process. A week later, I received an email from HR about transportation and other facilities, and another week after that, I got my offer letter.
- Can you tell me about compile time polymorphism?
- Write a code to count the frequency of a character.
- What's a way to check if a number is even or odd without using the modulus operator?
Software Engineer
So after I applied, they emailed me for a phone interview. A few days later, I had a phone interview with two people, which was kinda rough bc one was super interruptive and the other had a really hard-to-understand accent. It was just hard to talk to both at once. It wasn't great, but they still invited me for an on-site. That was about 2 hours with 6 different people. Only 2 of them were nice. The rest were really rude and condescending. They made me so uncomfortable that I pretty much lost interest in the job halfway through. It's a shame bc I liked the company.
- They asked logic and programming questions.
- Can you provide the exact key phrase for the solution?
- What is the correct nomenclature for the solution?
