First there was an online test, then 2-3 rounds of interviews either face-to-face or over Skype. They asked core java and multithreading questions, as well as hibernate and SQL questions. We also discussed my previous projects and some behavioral questions came up, along with a few DS questions. Finally, there was an HR round and salary negotiations. The process repeated itself with an online test and then 2-3 rounds of F2F/Skype interviews covering core java and multithreading, hibernate and SQL, project discussions, behavioral questions, and a few DS questions. The last step was the HR round and salary negotiations.

Behavioral Technical

This was the worst candidate experience I've ever had. The whole thing was bizarre, lengthy, and frankly embarrassing for Markit. They scheduled interviews during my holiday, costing me wages. Apparently, they thought I was too expensive early on, but they still proceeded with another interview without the authority to place me elsewhere. They ignored me directly but told a third party about my application status, saying I didn't get the job I applied for but could have another position if I confirmed my interest. Then they went silent again, leading to a confusing conversation with Markit HR who seemed unaware or were covering up for a colleague's significant mistakes. I didn't pursue it further as it seemed pointless.

So, there were three main stages in the interview process. It started with a phone call with HR, then another phone screen with the hiring manager. The final stage was an on-site interview, which included three separate one-on-one interviews with the VP, the Director, and the Hiring Manager. I actually got contacted by HR because I had applied for other roles before and even though I wasn't selected then, they kept my information and reached out when they found a good match. Everyone I spoke with was really nice, knew their stuff, and was easy to talk to.
