I was told there would be two rounds for this interview. I met with the Director of Regulatory Affairs and Director of Compliance for the first interview, which went really well. They said it was more of a personality interview than a typical one. I really liked talking with them. I got to the second round, but then the interview was cancelled just 10 minutes before it was supposed to start. After that, I was informed that the position was being put on hold. The HR recruiter was nice, though.

So I applied for their Python Developer (AI/ML) position in Shanghai earlier this year. First, there was a quick HR chat, then I had one interview with the hiring manager. It was mostly about my previous work, especially this RAG project I did, and they asked a lot of deep technical stuff. The manager mentioned the team is mainly backend and they're building a RAG system. He also said the US team helps them out and they have several open jobs. I've seen the same job ad still up, and it's been like that for almost a year now. It makes me wonder if they really have that many openings or if they're looking for something else with all these interviews.

It began with a chat with the recruiter, who was great about explaining the role and the company. After that, I had an in-person meeting in Amsterdam, which was really nice and welcoming. I also met with my future manager, which was a good chat and gave me a clear picture of the team and what they expect. The whole thing felt smooth and professional, and I felt like they really valued me.

I'm really torn about iHerb and their interview process. It seemed like a great place to work and the people I spoke with made me eager to join. The process started off well. The HR recruiter was responsive and clear through all the stages. I had three interviews: one with the hiring manager, another with the head of a different department, and a final one with the project manager whose workload I'd be taking on. Based on their reactions and feedback, especially from the project manager who said she'd recommend me, I thought I did really well. But then, weeks went by with no word. I emailed the HR recruiter 3-4 times with no reply, even though these were direct emails. It's surprising to be ghosted after three interview rounds. I get it if it happens early on, but after investing time in preparing and interviewing, the least they could do is let me know they chose someone else instead of leaving me hanging.
