First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at iHeartMedia.
Sales
The interview process was really straightforward and informative, a breath of fresh air. Honestly, it was one of the best I've experienced and I'd definitely recommend it.
- Tell me about your previous roles and the impact they've had on you.
- How do you see yourself contributing to our team?
Sales Assistant
The team reviewed my application. They asked about my qualifications, previous job experience, and how I'd handle hypothetical situations. They also wanted to know my future career plans, my reasons for wanting to join iHeart, and why I think I'm a good match for the position.
- What's your experience with broadcast radio and how do advertisers utilize it?
Sales Assistant
I applied online and a recruiter reached out. We had a 20-minute phone call where she asked basic questions like, "tell me about your resume." After that, I was contacted by iHeartMedia to set up an in-person interview in Chicago. I met with two VPs. The first one talked about her experiences and gave me good info about the company. The second one seemed unprepared and was really grilling me, almost hoping I'd mess up. She came off as judgmental, making me feel uncomfortable. It seemed like having exact experience was more important than potential. I sent a thank you email, then they asked for references. I sent those and haven't heard back in over a month.
- Tell me about a situation where you had to persuade your manager about something they weren't initially on board with.
