Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IGT.
Systems Engineer
Three interviews in total, starting with a screening, then a chat with direct management, and finally, a meeting with higher management. The interviews were pretty standard. After the last round, I was completely ghosted; my two follow-up emails got no response, which was really unprofessional. It's not hard to just send a quick email so I know where I stand.
- Can you share an example of a significant success you've experienced and also a major failure?
Systems Engineer
First they did a phone screen to make sure I was qualified. Then had a technical phone interview which I did well at so they then flew me to Renton for an in person technical interview. They seem like a great company to work for, but I am still waiting for them to call me back to let me know when I start.
- Can you share an instance of a difficult situation you encountered and explain how you managed it?
Systems Engineer
Got a call pretty quickly. The interview started with one supervisor in person and five managers on the phone. It was a totally technical interview, and they didn't explain the job at all. The questions covered about 4 or 5 areas related to the job, with each person asking their questions in turn. The questions got harder as we went along.
- No explanation of the job was given.
- No explanation of what was expected was given.
