First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IGT.
Software Engineer
The interview took place at the IGT Reno Campus with 2 interviewers (one Staff and one Senior). It started with a 'tell us who you are' question, followed by questions about my resume focusing on technologies and projects. Then, there was a coding question. I was told to wait two weeks for HR and was completely ghosted afterwards, even when I sent a follow-up email.
- Can you tell us about yourself?
- Could you answer some questions about your resume, specifically about the technologies you've used and projects you've worked on?
- How would you sort and de-duplicate an array using either Javascript or C#?
Senior Developer
The recruiters were very polite and pleasant. First, you speak with HR, then you have a technical interview. The technical interview had several people from different teams interviewing me, which was fine since I am very experienced. The best approach is to be relaxed and communicative. After that, you discuss salary with the director. They offered me a bit less than I asked for.
- Can you explain how Oracle handles database transactions?
Software Engineer
So the interview process was like this: first I had a call with the recruiter, and then right after, the Engineering manager called me too, all on the same day. The very next day, they had me come into their San Francisco office for an interview. The whole thing took about 3 hours and it was a 4-part panel interview, where I met with groups of 3 to 8 people at a time. They asked me about programming logic and concepts. It was super technical, and honestly, I blanked on a lot of stuff I learned in school. About a week later, I got an email saying they went with someone else because my technical skills weren't what they were looking for, which I get, I still got a lot to learn.
- How would you write code for a deck of cards that reveals the top card when a button is clicked?
