First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at iFIT.
Senior Software Engineer
Started with a recruiter call, then I spoke with two managers for a fit-check, then I did a medium level coding exercise which was a relatively simple function to solve, and then I got the offer.
- Could you solve a medium level algorithm problem?
Software Engineer
I got a HackerRank coding challenge to do online, and had 40 minutes to finish it. About a week after that, I got a call from the interviewer to set up an in-person meeting. The interview started with culture fit questions, then moved to whiteboard questions. I got to ask questions at the end.
- Could you draw out on the whiteboard how a personal project you did was structured?
Software Developer
So the interview process was pretty standard, started with a HackerRank challenge. Then I got some questions via email from HR, answered those, and the next day they sent a calendar invite for an interview. They didn't ask for my availability, just sent a time and said to contact them if it didn't work. I accepted, and then met with two developers. It was really conversational, we talked about my experience and what I like to do. They gave positive feedback like 'I like to hear that' and 'that's a great answer.' After that, we did a live coding challenge. It was a bit intimidating and I felt a bit off my game, but the developers were cool and helpful. I completed the challenge. They said the difficulty was similar to the HackerRank ones. The next morning I got an email saying they were proceeding with another candidate that more closely fits their needs, but hope I'll consider them again. I was confused because I thought the interview went amazing, we even joked and laughed. I don't know if they didn't find me qualified or if they already had an offer out to someone else.
- Can you tell us about your past experience?
- Have you worked with 'xyz' technology?
- Can you complete this live coding challenge, which is about the same difficulty as the HackerRank challenges?

“Given a total weight in kg, a number of large bags (each holding 5kg), and a number of small bags (each holding 1kg), calculate the number of small bags needed. If the available bags aren't enough to cover the total weight, return -1.”
