IEQ Capital Interview Questions
& Process

You meet with the majority of the team (7 people) that you would be on. Each person has a different angle and line of questioning. It is a very thorough process but rewarding when you join the team.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. It felt like the interviewers had already made up their minds about me based on where I went to school, which influenced the questions they asked. Honestly, the questions they chose seemed pointless and were delivered in a kind of judgmental way. They weren't very pleasant to interact with. Plus, they had technical issues for the first 10 minutes that could have easily been avoided. It felt like a complete waste of time.

Got an interview with this company, they work with a recruiting firm called Mackenzie & Partners. The first two rounds with IEQ happened really fast, scheduled within two weeks. I had video calls with an Associate Director and a Director, which was a nice experience. They mentioned they're growing fast and keen to hire someone for this position. The questions were pretty standard, like why I'm interested in the role and asking me to walk through my resume. Then, HR said they'd let me know in a day or two, or early next week. I didn't hear anything for about 1.5 weeks. The recruiter didn't have info and was trying to get an update from HR. I reached out directly to IEQ and got an email saying they're rethinking if they need to hire someone new and have put the search on hold. I figure they would have just rejected me if I wasn't a good fit. It's super frustrating and a waste of time that a company this size would change their mind so drastically within three weeks.

The interview process included 3 video calls and a case study. The first one was with the recruiter just to weed out applicants. Second one was with associates. Third was with director of associate and it lasted longer than first two but included like market specific questions and questions about your experiences. They were all very kind and I really enjoyed talking to all of them. The fourth part was a 24 hr case study. While talking to them was a good experience, I spent a lot of time and effort on the case study. When I got the rejection email, I asked if I could receive feedback on the case study and they said no, which I thought was extremely disrespectful of my time and efforts to have me spend all that time and not give me a single reason as to why I didn’t move forward with the process. This has not been my experience with other companies who provide feedback. I thought this was telling about company culture.
