Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IEH Laboratories & Consulting Group.
Chemist
We had in-person interviews with the supervisor first, then a second interview with the director and supervisor. After that, they showed us around their lab. All the instruments seemed really old. It's a good place for new grads to get experience, but maybe not for long-term. They pay the least and give you a lot of work.
- Can you discuss your past experience that aligns with this role?
Microbiologist
I found the job on Craigslist and then had a quick phone chat. After that, I was invited for an in-person interview, which felt pretty relaxed. The lab managers were there, and one of the owners stopped by briefly. They asked about my background and what I'm aiming for. They got back to me about a week later. It seems like most people have a follow-up meeting with the main owner, especially if he has reservations or his own questions. Then, a few days after that, they reached out to sort out the salary and job offer. I had a week to get ready before my start date.
- Tell me about your experience with specific microbiology tests.
Microbiologist
It was easy and not too formal. They only asked basic knowledge questions. The supervisor was there on the panel. They asked the 'half full or half empty' question to test my opinion on things. We talked about life, graduation, and basic skills.
- Are you more of a half full or half empty person?
