Customer Success Manager
I had a really great and rewarding time during the whole hiring process. My recruiter, Anna, was amazing and always there to help with any questions or worries I had. She explained the whole process really well so I knew what to expect. The interviews took about four weeks and were a good way to see if I was a fit. Here’s how it went: First, a video chat with the recruiter (30 min). Second, a quick writing task (an email). Third, a role play with the Team Lead (45 min). Fourth, a competency interview (1-1.5 hrs). Lastly, the final interview (45min-1hr). The way it was set up, along with Anna's great support, made sure each step felt important and helpful. It made me even more excited about the job and the company.

Customer Success Manager
So, I went through this 5-week interview process for a CSM role and unfortunately didn't get it. It started with a quick 20-minute phone screen, then a 1-hour Zoom with the recruiter. After that, I had to do a writing sample, followed by another 1.5-hour call where we talked about my experience using the 'tell me about a time' method. I was feeling pretty good about getting an offer, but then came the final step: a role-play. They gave me 2 days to prep for a 30-minute customer scenario that included 4 pages of info on the customer, product, pricing, and their background. The goal was to build rapport, solve issues, and set the stage for moving the relationship forward, plus send a follow-up email. I asked the recruiter about the expectations for this call since I hadn't spoken to the person yet, and they just said 'be yourself'. During the role-play, I could tell it wasn't going well, felt like it was the end of the line. As expected, I got the rejection email 2 days later, saying I was strong but missed the mark in some areas, and they encouraged me to reapply. I don't think I will, though, because it seems like there's a gap between recruiters and the actual teams, and getting an offer feels unlikely after going through this.
- Can you tell me about the kinds of customers you currently work with?
- What's your approach to managing your workload?
- Could you share an example of a challenging situation you encountered and how you successfully navigated it?
Customer Success Manager
This company's interview process is pretty long because they're super thorough. They're all about the customer and want to find people who think the same way. They record all the interviews and do role-playing over Zoom/Teams. First, there's a recruiter phone call, then a short writing assignment. After that, a behavioral interview, followed by a role-play with the manager, and finally, an interview with the manager again. The communication throughout the whole thing was the best part of my experience. They were super clear about what to expect, and the recruiter always got back to me fast with answers. They followed through really well and communicated great from start to finish. She was really supportive, kind, and encouraging. It's one of the best interview processes I've been through, even if it was a bit too long.
