First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ideal Concepts.
Software Engineer
Applied through a job portal and got shortlisted. A recruiter called and outlined the process: first, a 75-minute coding assessment, followed by a 2-hour book knowledge assessment where I was asked basic things like how to cc an email. Then, another 20-minute recruiter call. Finally, a 110-minute technical interview with three people (likely manager, lead, architect). During this last interview, I solved two live coding questions, explained my algorithms, and time complexity, and even discussed an alternative approach when asked. Despite feeling good about the interview, I was rejected. I advise others to avoid this company as it seems they are using interviews to promote a new product launch, asking candidates to search the company online and post about it.

Sales Agent
Had a phone interview, then an assessment test, followed by more phone interviews, and finally a video interview on Teams. The job offer from the recruiter and hiring manager was a total lie. They offered $40K with a bonus structure that changed daily after being hired, but they said with mandatory overtime, the salary would be $55k annually, which was all a lie. You'll never get the overtime, so your pay is only $19.23 per hour, not even the $20 they mentioned. It's all outbound calls, 500-1000 per day, with maybe 1 or 2 inbound calls, contrary to what I was told. You can't even leave your desk for breaks because it drops your metrics. Stay far away from this company, it's the most unethical place I've worked.
- Did you complete the assessment test and answer the stupid questions from the recruiter just to get hired? It was all lies!!!!
Sales Representative
The talent acquisition specialists were extremely unprofessional. After the initial interview, I was called a "rockstar" and told I was being fast-tracked to the top of the candidate list. Basically, I was told the job was mine if I wanted it. The next day I got the typical "although your experience is impressive, unfortunately..." email. I immediately called, emailed, AND texted my contact for an explanation and maybe some constructive criticism. He NEVER got back to me. I thought Ideal Concepts sounded like such a great place to work, but now I know better. If they can't even return a simple phone call or email to a prospective agent looking for information, then how unprofessional can their business practices be?
- How many AEPs have you previously worked?
Recruiter
It started with a recruiter call, which was pretty standard with some basic questions. Then came a series of tests, over 2 hours long, which felt unrelated to the actual job, but I went through with it. Apparently, most candidates don't pass these tests. If you do, you move on to speak with the head of recruiting. This interview was basically a resume review, asking about sales skills, and it felt like they weren't really listening. They said they don't use intuition, only test results to decide. It's a high-volume environment where people are advanced based solely on test results, regardless of experience, skills, or personality. It's strange.
- Can you describe the strength of your sales abilities?
