Software Engineer
First, there was a screening, then a short java interview. After that, I had a big take-home assignment where I had to work with polynomials. The goal of the take-home was to pull data from a CSV and really over-engineer it, showing I could write production-ready code. Finally, there was a final interview.
- Could you explain Encapsulation, Polymorphism, Overriding, and Overloading in Java, along with other core Java concepts?
Software Engineer
They used a project to check my coding skills and knowledge. It was good because I had plenty of time to show what I knew without the pressure of a clock. The interviewers were really nice and made me feel comfortable, so I wasn't stressed at all.
- Can you tell me about the code for your project?
- What was your design approach for this project?
- How did you tackle the problem you solved in your project code?
Software Development Engineer
So the first step was a phone call with the recruiter. They asked me about the company, what products they make, and my work history. After that, I had to do a code review exercise. Between the second and third stages, there were some online tests like situational judgement, numerical, verbal, and logical tests. I'd suggest practicing those on assessmentday. The final stage was a two-hour interview. The first hour was with the technical team, and the second hour was with HR. The technical team asked about my projects, OOP, unit testing, and some reverse engineering on the code review I did. The HR part involved discussing the online tests I'd taken. Remember to use the STAR method for HR questions. The interview itself went well, and I probably would've gotten the job, but I was really tired the day before, and getting there was tough.
- Could you tell me more about the code review?
- What about testing?
