First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at iCIMS.
Account Executive
I was contacted by a recruiter from Indeed.com for an Account Executive - Majors High position. We had a 30-minute phone screening for cultural fit. Then, I had to complete two tests: an aptitude test (like GRE/GMAT/LSAT/SAT) and a personality test to gauge my sales drive and ability to generate leads. After that, a second recruiter conducted another 30-minute phone interview focusing on my work history, skills, and background. This completed the phone stages and tests within 5 days. Next, I had two in-person interviews with team leaders. The first was a challenging 68-minute interview with a sales leader focused on HRM industry technical terms, despite my lack of experience in that field. He commented on my desire for a new job implying issues at my current one, which I refuted by explaining my interest in iCIMS's reputation and opportunities, and clarifying that recruiters initiated contact. The second one-hour interview was a more general discussion about my sales experience. After waiting almost two weeks, I followed up with HR and was informed they had moved on to other candidates. The recruiter mentioned they were rushed to fill positions for early January starts, but I felt there should have been better follow-up. Despite the issues with the first in-person interviewer and the delayed HR response, I still view iCIMS as a good, professional, and forward-thinking company, though particular about who they hire. I would consider applying for other roles in the future.

Strategic Account Executive
The first step was a phone call with HR. They talked about the job, what they're looking for, and my background. Since it's a new role, I then had three phone interviews with hiring managers over the next couple of weeks, which happened on time. These directors were very clear about their expectations for the job. After that, I went to the Matawan HQ for a full day of interviews with management and people I'd be working with. It was a really positive experience and totally worth the time. I've never been through such a thorough vetting process before, and I can't imagine what else they could have asked, but everyone was ready with tough questions and different perspectives.
- Can you tell me about your traditional qualifications?

Enterprise Account Executive
I've interviewed with iCIMS a few times and each experience has been great. They're efficient and provide feedback quickly, whether it's good news or if things aren't moving forward, and they explain why. The recruiting team is collaborative and shares info, so you don't have to repeat yourself. They remember candidates and value 'silver medalists,' reaching out later for fitting roles. The process was fast, and they met or beat expectations. Conversations were genuine and relevant, not just standard or tricky questions. You can really sense the company culture through the people you speak with, which makes you want the job even more. I can't say enough about their professionalism and the positive energy during recruitment. I'm excited to join and will share this great experience with customers!
- Can you describe a deal you lost and the lessons you took away from it?
