I applied for several jobs and got a call about a week later to schedule a 30-minute phone interview. It was more of a general chat about my background, skills, and interests because they were trying to figure out where I'd best fit in the department. They reached out again about four weeks later about a specific opening. I went in for a 3.5-hour in-person interview, meeting with four people for 30 minutes each (potential coworkers) and two senior managers for 45 minutes each, all individually. HR contacted me about three weeks after that to let me know I didn't get the role. However, I stayed in touch with the hiring manager and kept applying. Around four to five weeks later, a different hiring manager called me for an on-the-spot phone interview. Apparently, they'd initially passed on my resume because I was overqualified, but the first hiring manager recommended me. I went to the office the next day for a 1.5-hour interview with three people. They offered me the job the very next morning. Of course, they need to do a background check on my education and references before I can start.

It took them about a month to get back to me after applying, but after that, they were pretty quick with setting up interviews. The downside is there are two phone interviews before the in-person interview, so you don’t really get to wow them like you would in person. Your phone interview might be your only shot, so make sure you really know your stuff about research report tools, fingers crossed!

I was contacted after submitting my resume at a job fair. A phone interview happened within 10 days of sending my revised resume, transcript, and writing sample. Then, an in-person interview was set up for about 2-3 weeks later. The interview day ran from morning to mid-afternoon, where I met and interviewed with people at different levels. There was also a simple writing test. I got the offer less than a week after the in-person interview.
