Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ICF.
Project Coordinator
I applied in late July and didn't hear back until early September, I had almost forgotten about it. It started with a phone screening, and after the recruiter liked me, they scheduled a video interview with the Program managers. I was told I would hear back in about a week, but a whole month went by. After a bunch of ignored follow-ups, I was finally told I didn't get the offer.
- Do you have experience reviewing applications in Excel format?
Project Coordinator
I had 4 interviews in total, each with a different person. The people I spoke with were really nice and kept me informed about what was coming next. They explained the role well and answered all my questions.
- What are your strengths?
Program Coordinator
I applied on LinkedIn and a recruiter got in touch right away to set up an interview. It seemed pretty straightforward. The recruiter said I'd hear back in about a week, but that didn't happen. About a month later, the recruiter contacted me again about a different job, but I had already accepted another offer. The communication wasn't great, but overall it was a decent experience.
- Can you tell me about your background and experience?
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this position?
