Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ICF.
IT Business Analyst
The interview process was really smooth and everyone I met was super nice. It started with a recruiter screen, then I had an interview with the manager, and finally met with the managers colleagues, who were either Sr. BAs or IT PMs. They were really interested in my past experience and wanted to see how I think like a business analyst.
- What would be your process for resolving an issue with a BI report?
Business Analyst
This whole interview process felt like a complete waste of my time. I went through all the interviews and completed a case study, only to be ghosted by the company. A month after my final interview, the recruiter finally called to inform me that I wasn't selected. What's really frustrating is that the recruiter had promised to call me the following week after my final interview. It was incredibly unprofessional. I had also stated my salary expectations were much higher than what they were willing to pay before even starting the interviews. I honestly don't understand why they put me through their entire process.
- Can you describe your general experience working with data?
- Have you ever worked with big data or complex datasets before?
Business Analyst
The interview process was straightforward, with questions mainly focused on Agile methodology and interactions with developers and product owners. It consisted of two rounds: the first with a technical recruiter and the second with the director. It's advisable to be ready to discuss the firm and to have questions prepared for the end.
- In what kind of work environment do you feel you perform best?
- Could you explain what acceptance criteria is and who is responsible for defining it?
- What would you say are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
