The interview was mainly focused on my soft skills, extracurricular activities and how I could be a good and proactive teamworker. The most important part was not my technical knowledge in any specific programming languages. In fact, I didn't have any experience with the main programming language they use and I was accepted.

The interview process has 3 rounds. It's not too difficult, personality-wise. Just be ready to answer questions and know your stuff, and you should be fine. It's a good idea to connect with employees; they're really nice and helpful. Make sure to be outgoing and bring a startup mindset to the table.

I applied online on October 7 and got an offer in mid-December. I worked as a Data Engineering Intern from June 5, 2023 to August 4, 2023. This was iCapital's first ever internship program. It was a really nice and easy interview process, though my managers mentioned that surprisingly, many candidates didn't make it through the technical interview. First, there was a 30-minute phone call with the recruiter who ran the intern program. She was great and answered all my questions. Then, a technical interview with 1-2 people, who turned out to be my managers. The interview was pretty straightforward, involving a dataset where I had to answer questions using pandas in python, covering basic data cleaning and analysis. They mentioned that if you're not very familiar with pandas, this role might not be the best fit. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I'd recommend it!
