I had a phone call with a recruiter. They asked me about my background, why I'm interested in the company, and why I want this specific role. It was a nice chat, but I never got any follow-up, not even a rejection. The call was on January 26th.

I was contacted by a recruiter for an initial phone screening that covered basic questions. Then I spoke with the hiring manager. After that, I had to complete a 3-part take-home project that was quite demanding, resulting in a 40-slide PowerPoint presentation. The recruiter mentioned they'd schedule an on-site interview quickly, but I didn't hear back. After following up, I received a generic response stating they were moving on with other candidates. Interestingly, some of the ideas I presented in my project appeared in their emails shortly after, which makes me suspect they might have taken my ideas. It felt like a lot of wasted time, especially since the job has been posted since July, and I know there are qualified candidates in Denver. It seems like they weren't serious about filling the role and were more interested in getting free ideas.

I had a 1:1 phone call with the recruiter. He mentioned the role pays $60k, which is way lower than other jobs I've seen in Denver for SaaS roles with similar skills. It seems like they're exploiting the current situation because he said they would have met their revenue goals if it wasn't for COVID. It's surprising they're being so stingy with pay when they're making so much money.
