First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ibotta.
Data Scientist
First, there was an HR call, then a call with the hiring manager where we talked about my past experience and skills. After that, I had a take-home assignment where I had to build an ML model for a business question. Finally, there were 3 rounds of panels where I had to walk through the take-home assignment, answer behavioral questions, and discuss team culture.
- Can you provide details about your ML and statistics knowledge?
Data Scientist
Started with a chat with the recruiter, then a conversation with the hiring manager. After that, I had to complete a take-home technical assessment. Then there was a panel interview to review the assessment. Finally, there was a culture fit discussion with the team and some managers and directors.
- What motivates your interest in joining our company?
Data Scientist
So I applied and a recruiter hit me up a few days later. We chatted for about 30 minutes. Then I interviewed with the hiring manager for the Data Science team. After that, I got a take-home assignment. I put about 4-6 hours into it and sent it back two days later. About a week after I submitted it, they told me they were moving on with other candidates. They didn't even talk about the project or give any feedback, which was pretty disappointing after I spent a good chunk of time on it.
