This hiring process took about a month. It started with a recruiter call, which was great. Next, there was a 30-minute Zoom meeting with department managers, who also seemed really good. Then, I had to do a mock presentation project. They didn't give any examples, just a company template and very little info on what they wanted. I was expected to create a 25-30 minute presentation. While I get wanting to see how people perform, giving so little information and expecting us to present on services we know nothing about (besides basic public website info) seemed like a recipe for disaster. I've had less stress presenting to CEOs at big companies, and this was just an interview. The panel also seemed uninterested.

Behavioral Presentation

I had two interviews, one with a recruiter and one with the hiring manager. Both interviews were great; the discussions were productive and the people were kind. Because those conversations went so well, I was then asked to create a PowerPoint presentation for a client campaign that included strategy, learnings, and recommendations. It's now been three weeks since I submitted the presentation. I got a same-day confirmation that they received it, but I haven't heard back from Ibotta, even after I followed up with their team. This communication lapse is certainly not unheard of these days, but it was still disappointing given that Ibotta presents itself as a better company than that. Live and learn!

It started with a brief 10-minute recruiter call. After that, I had a half-hour chat with the Team Lead where they asked about my previous work. The final stage was a longer panel interview that included a presentation and then a Q&A session.
