The interview process was time consuming but overall worth it. You start out with a 30 minute call with the recruiter covering your resume and things like why you are interested in Ibotta. After that I had a phone conversation with someone in the division that I would be in. The third round was an in person meeting where there were multiple interviews (1 on 1's, presentation and a written test). After that there was one final in person interview with the person would would be my leader. Even though the process was pretty cumbersome it was well worth it. I really got the sense that they were taking their time evaluating the person both for their skills and personality to really make sure they would be an all around good fit. Even though the presentation was a lot of work and somewhat intimidating I got the impression that people there wanted you to succeed and they weren't throwing you questions to be jerks and prove you didn't know, they were testing your preparation and to see how you think on your feet. Overall it was a really great experience and everyone I met along the interview process was wonderful.

So I had this interview for a Consumer Insights and Analytics Account Executive role. It started with HR doing a standard questions interview, then I spoke with the hiring manager. The next stage was supposed to be the in-person interview, which was a whole thing. We had to present a Go To Market Strategy to Sr. Management and the hiring manager. I spent like 20 man hours on it, but honestly, it felt like they were just fishing for ideas because the panel was on their phones the whole time and the most senior person left early. It really rubbed me the wrong way, especially after putting in so much work. They told me two weeks later they weren't hiring, but then the job popped back up on LinkedIn a week after that, which just confirmed they weren't serious about hiring and probably just wanted free consulting. They should treat candidates better, like clients.

I applied online and heard back from a recruiter via email after a couple of days to set up an initial phone interview. The recruiter was nice and really explained the job and company well. The interview had basic questions, and at the end, I got to ask my own. However, the recruiter got distracted by a Slack message while I was talking, which threw me off and made it seem like she wasn't paying attention. Also, when I asked about training and what tools are provided to succeed, she said she didn't know, which I found surprising since she should have a basic grasp of that. This really put me off, and I ended the interview by saying I didn't think we were a good fit. It felt really unprofessional for a recruiter not to be prepared to answer questions important for a candidate to know if they want to move forward.
