Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IBC Bank.
Sales Representative
The process was pretty quick and easy. They asked about leadership and sales experiences.
- Can you share an instance where you demonstrated leadership?
- Could you detail your most challenging sale?
Sales Representative
IBC has a really high turnover rate and holds job fairs every week. I went to one of those. I filled out an application and had to sign some forms, including ones for a background check and a credit check. You won't get hired if you don't pass both. After that, I met with a senior manager for an interview where they wanted to see if I could sell. IBC's main focus is on how many new accounts are opened each month. If you have sales experience, you're pretty much guaranteed a job. The next day, I had another interview with a different senior manager. I said what she wanted to hear and got a call back the same day offering me the job.
- Can you meet your sales goals each week and month?
- What are your computer skills like?
Sales Representative
You apply at any branch, and your application/resume goes to the corporate office for the hiring committee. The first interview is one-on-one, with simple questions about your resume and work experience. If that goes well, you have a second interview, which was one-on-one for me, but can be a group interview for others. They ask questions about how you resolved issues from your work history, with a strong emphasis on sales.
- Can you describe your experience related to sales or banking, and walk me through a problem resolution process?
- Tell me about a time you resolved an issue from your work history.
- Can you elaborate on how you have handled sales-related challenges in the past?
