Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IAV.
Intern
It started with a friendly chat where I introduced myself and we managed expectations. Then, unfortunately, in my opinion, there were outdated brain teasers like 'How many Smarties fit in a Smart car?', which felt a bit odd at the time. It wasn't long and wasn't very structured.
- How many Smarties would fit into a Smart car?
Intern
First, we did the usual intro, then they checked my technical knowledge to see if I was a good fit, after that, we went over my programming skills, and then they offered me the job.
- Can you explain smart pointers?
- Tell me about sensor fusion.
- What concepts are involved in LiDAR-based fusion?
Intern
First I had a Phone interview with the manager, he was a bit vague about the job descriptions and tasks involved. The last step involved an interview with their client and a presentation. This was the interview where I actually learned the real job description which was a good fit for my profile.
- Are you interested in the company?
- Are you interested in the project?
- Can you tell me about your previous jobs and skills?
