IAC Interview Questions
& Process

You start by submitting an online application with your essays, resume, and transcript. Then, the IAC fellowship program managers will contact you to set up a preliminary interview, which lasts about 30 minutes and is behavioral and motivation-focused. If you get through that first round, your resume goes to the IAC partner brands, and the program managers will check in with you about interviewing with them. Depending on the brand, there will be 1 to 3 more rounds of interviews.

The interview process started with a recruiter phone call that acted as a screening. After that, I had an interview with the hiring manager. This was followed by four back-to-back interviews with the team, and finally, another interview with the hiring manager. The whole thing took place over Zoom and spanned about 2-3 weeks. They organized it well, and it was easy to know who I'd be talking to next. The interviews were pretty standard, mostly like conversations. There was also a take-home case study after the first hiring manager interview.

The interview process started with an HR Screen, which was mostly about my resume. Then came the Hiring Manager Phone Interview, also focusing on my resume, asking about my interest in IAC and product management, and how my skills align with the role. After that, there was a Skype Interview with three rounds. The first was with a Sr. Product Manager about releasing a product within a timeframe, prioritizing features, and improvements. The second was with a Senior Data Scientist about website testing and measuring success. The third was with an Engineering Manager, again asking basic resume questions. I was rejected the next day via email. It was a decent experience, though I think an onsite interview in NYC might have gone better. The HR person was good though, providing a full schedule of interviews which they stuck to. My advice is to research the company and products, read the job description, and research your interviewers on LinkedIn to see how your experience relates to their work. If you don't succeed, keep trying.

So first you submit your application, then there's a typing test and a customer service test. If you pass those, you then shadow someone for an hour to see what the job is like. After that, you meet with a supervisor who asks questions, and if you answer them well, they'll either hire you or say they'll call back. They hired me on the spot because I aced the tests! They hired me as a supervisor, but then lost all my paperwork, so it was really unorganized.
