First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IA Interior Architects.
Human Resources Coordinator
Process started with a phone screening. This was to gauge the suitability for the role without getting into specifics of responsibilities (i.e. how you felt about the field you're in, goals for the future, remote modality of the role), the second (and, I assume final) phase was a remote interview with 2 team members and the recruiter that conducted the initial screening. In this phase, team members went more in depth about the candidate's background and asked situational questions that related to the job they needed to be filled. After this, if you don't get the role, they completely ghost you. No one will respond to your emails and there isn't an ATS system that you can log into to check if your application is still active. Hopefully the coordinator they actually hired can set up an automation. It is a bad practice to leave people guessing especially in this climate.
- Tell me about your experience with benefits management.
Senior Design Manager
I had a virtual interview with the primary office manager, then an in-person interview with the office manager and other associates. I also had many phone conversations with the hiring manager. They seemed enthusiastic, then discussed numbers and the role, but then ghosted me after hinting at an offer.
- Can you describe the types of projects you have experience with?
Architect
I had a really good interview where I talked about my design background, school projects, and technical abilities. The person interviewing me asked some really smart questions about what I've done and where I want to go in my career, which made me think a lot. It was a positive experience, and I felt motivated about the job and my career.
- I discussed my design background, technical skills, and career interests in a productive interview.
- The interviewer posed insightful questions, leaving me feeling motivated about future prospects.
Student Assistant
The interview process was pretty thorough and well put together. They had a mix of technical and behavioral questions to really get a good sense of candidates. They communicated clearly and followed up in a timely manner, which showed they were professional and serious about finding the right person. It felt more like a back-and-forth conversation where we both got to understand each other better, making it a good and informative experience.
- Can you tell me about your biggest weakness?
