IT Strategy Intern
I had a 30-min phone call for an internship role. The interviewer was nice and it was mostly standard behavioral and background questions. They wanted to know about my past experience, why I liked the company, and what I wanted in a job. The questions were basic, no tech stuff. They asked about teamwork, managing time, problems I've dealt with, and how I keep things organized. Also asked if I knew about what the company does and why I applied. It was a pretty easy and chatty interview. They seemed more interested in if I'd be a good fit and if I was motivated rather than testing my skills. The recruiter also gave me info about the job and let me ask questions at the end. It was a good experience.

Senior Benefits Specialist
I applied online and got contacted for a phone screen within a week. The recruiter was nice and upfront about the slow interview process due to an HRIS project the team is focused on. Even though it seemed to go well and I matched the qualifications, after several weeks of waiting and checking in, I was told they weren't moving forward. When I asked why, she said there was no specific reason and her chat with the hiring manager was short. The job has been posted for about 3 months now.
- Can you explain how your background aligns with the requirements of this role?
Manager
I've gone through a couple of interview processes with the company and neither went well. It was hard to get answers to my questions during both times. Recruiters usually don't respond unless they're moving you to the next round, and even then, many questions went unanswered. In my first attempt, I got through the process, but the salary at the end wasn't what I was looking for. They were offering less than my current salary. I don't understand how this happened since I clearly stated my salary expectations on my application. In my second attempt for a similar job, the director missed my interview. It was eventually rescheduled. The only acknowledgment I received was that there are a lot of emails going around and sometimes they get missed. I guess I expected more of an apology, but maybe that's not their company culture. When I finally interviewed for the position, the director was quite negative about the company in general. It was a pretty bad interview experience overall, even though the interview itself was easy. Maybe my expectations are too high, but in my current company, we try to leave every candidate with a positive impression of the company, knowing they could be a customer one day or improve their resume and work for us in the future. This definitely doesn't happen with Hyundai.
- Can you describe your general experience?
Accounts Payable Specialist
I applied online and got an email asking for voice-recorded answers to three questions. After that, I was screened and got an in-house interview with the A/P Manager. The interview was supposed to be an hour but went for 1.5 hours. It focused on my previous roles and some behavioral stuff. The manager also explained the job in detail, which was super helpful. A few days later, I had a second round with the Head of Accounting (30 mins), Controller (15 mins), and HR (45 mins-1 hour). The questions were pretty similar to the first interview, like 'tell me about yourself,' 'what would you do in this position,' 'long-term goals,' and 'what you look for in a job.' Overall, it was a great interview process, though a bit nerve-wracking. The company was as professional as I expected.
