Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hyundai Capital America.
Credit Analyst
It was a quick process. I first had a phone call with HR. They thought I might be a better fit for a higher position than the one I applied for. Then, I had a short phone interview with a manager from that department to see if they wanted to interview me in person. Finally, I had an in-person interview with the department manager and a supervisor. It was very laid back and relaxed, more conversational than just being bombarded with questions.
- What is the importance of maintaining good relationships with the dealers you are assigned to?
Credit Analyst
You gotta be persistent when applying to Hyundai Capital America cause it's competitive. The interview was more of a panel Q&A, not really a chatty free-flowing thing. Pretty regimented and routine questions. It felt warm enough, but could have been more comfortable. It was tough to figure out what the panel was thinking, they had straight faces but were nice.
- What are the advantages of our lease programs that you would emphasize to dealers?
Credit Analyst
I applied for a Commercial Analyst position within my current department after working at the company for a year. It was a panel interview, and the questions were very general, not really related to the position or my skills. Mostly they were behavioral, like 'What if' scenarios. I think this could be a challenging role for me to grow within the company. The management in this department knows my skills and potential, and I feel they really base their decisions on personal relationships they have with some employees. For external candidates, I think internal candidates might have a better chance depending on whether they are favored, which is quite sad.
- What would you do if you encountered a difficult and upset customer?
- What is your motivation?
