Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hyundai America Technical Center.
Engineer
It was a multi-step process. First up was a virtual interview, then I had an in-person one. They gave me a topic beforehand to make a PPT about, which I had to present during the in-person part.
- Could you describe your programming experience?
Senior Engineer
Had a one-hour interview with basic technical questions and behavioral questions. GPA is important for them. Also did a CATIA test where they provided a sketch and I had to make the 3D Model.
- Can you explain the material properties of aluminum versus steel and justify your choice between them?
Engineer
I had an in-person interview with a group of engineers, a supervisor, and a manager. We talked about my resume and some technical stuff. They also asked a couple of behavioral questions. Then, there was a video call with higher management where we went over more experience-based and behavioral questions.
- How have you dealt with difficult people in the past?
- Can you share an experience of handling a tough situation?
- Tell me about a challenging design problem you've worked on.
