It was a pretty standard interview process, but it took a while. The company has gone through some changes, and the interviewers made sure to let me know. They even framed it as a heads-up, which was honest but felt a little off. It was also disappointing that they didn't focus much on the actual role. Honestly, felt like a waste of time.
- Can you tell me about a project that had a significant impact on you and explain the reasons behind it?
Customer Experience
Hyperscience's interview process was really thorough and intentional. It took about 4 weeks, and I talked to a bunch of people from different parts of the Customer Experience team. Everyone had a specific role in asking about the skills and experiences they needed. The conversations were all great, enjoyable, and a chance to learn, giving me a feel for Hyperscience's culture and values. I didn't get much chance to ask my own questions until the end, though I could email them in. Overall, I was really impressed and felt good about the company by the end.
- Tell me about your project management abilities.
- Can you share your past client experiences, including both successes and challenges?
- How do you approach situations where sales commitments are difficult to fulfill?
Associate
It was a really thorough but organized interview process. First, a recruiter called me for a 30-minute screening over Zoom. After that, they sent me a challenge to complete and send back within 24 hours. Then, I had a 45-minute interview with the hiring manager. This was followed by an all-day virtual on-site where I met potential team members individually and the director of People for a personality screening. The virtual on-site ended with another 30-minute interview with the same hiring manager and a quick 15-minute catch-up with the recruiter. A few days later, I had a 30-minute interview with the department VP. If you do well, they'll ask for referrals, which is a good sign. They did ask for referrals from me. Overall, be ready to meet a lot of people from the company!
- What are your salary expectations?
- What qualities do you look for in a manager?
- They asked a few basic technical/knowledge questions.
Technical Recruiter
The interview process was really smooth and nice. It started with a call with the Talent Acquisition Lead, then a call with the Lead Technical Recruiter. After that, there was a virtual on-site, and finally, a chat with the VP of People. Everyone at Hyperscience seemed really smart and friendly, and they were all enthusiastic about the company and its product. It's great to see a company that genuinely cares about its employees and how candidates are treated. The offer stage was also good; they were really thoughtful, upfront about everything, and offered a very competitive package with the best benefits I've seen at a startup. I had to turn it down because of personal reasons, but I'll definitely apply again in the future! This company is a real standout among NYC tech startups, and I highly recommend it!
- Can you tell me about the most challenging role you've had to fill?
- Could you share an instance where you implemented a change to a hiring process?
