The whole thing took about a month. First, there was a Zoom interview with two QA team leads. They asked me about my past experience and some behavioral questions to see if I fit what they needed. It was about 45 minutes long. Then, HR called me for a quick 10-minute chat about salary, why I left my last job, and why I want to join Hyland. After that, I went in for an in-person interview that had three parts. The first part was with HR, lasting about 20 minutes, where we talked about when I could start, the onboarding, my long-term goals, and how I'd fit into the company culture. The second part was a 30-minute technical interview, but it wasn't really about QA. The interviewer had control of my computer and asked basic tech questions to gauge my savviness, like how to find an IP address in the command prompt, check a computer's network name, share a folder with read-only access, what specs I'd look for in a new computer, what a server is, and the difference between HTTP and HTTPS. The last part was a casual 10-minute chat with two team members about the tools they use and their daily work.

Behavioral Technical

The interview was awesome. It started with HR asking typical HR questions, but they really wanted my own answers. Then, I sat in front of a Windows PC for the next part. They tested my ability to find the IP address, open the command prompt, and use shortcuts. The last part was with two people, probably a manager and a team lead. They asked a lot of questions about technology and my passions to see what kind of team member I'd be. Based on my experience, passion for tech, and ability to work with others and alone, I thought I was perfect. But they disagreed and made me wait over a month for a generic rejection email.

After submitting my application on their website, a junior recruiter contacted me about a week later to set up an interview. The process actually includes three interviews and a written test. The first interview was with department managers. They were professional and asked a lot of questions. The second interview was with an HR representative, who was also very professional. She then gave me a timed written test. The instructions were to complete as much as possible within the time limit. The final interview involved a technical interview and a test assessing basic computer skills.
