I had several phone and Teams interviews where they didn't ask any tough questions, then they invited me for an on-site interview (which I had to pay for myself). They didn't seem to care about technical skills, it felt like a waste of time.

I had two rounds of interviews for this role. I liked meeting the hiring manager and the team. The interesting thing is that most of the HR team is not located onsite. The person who sent emails was based in Costa Rica. The company offers great benefits and the location in The Woodlands is excellent. The garage is attached and the security is also very good.

It was a long process. I interviewed with over 8 people including the hiring manager, other managers, future colleagues, a director, multiple VPs, and HR. Each interview lasted over an hour, and I spent many extra hours preparing for each one. I invested a significant amount of time and felt things went well, connecting with everyone I spoke to. After about 2 months, I received an automated rejection email with no feedback or explanation. I emailed each manager politely asking for feedback, which I felt was fair given the time and effort I put in. HR then emailed me back telling me not to contact the managers again. It's funny because any of the managers, directors, or VPs I talked to could have just called me (my number was in my signature) and said something like "we decided to go with someone with more xyz experience," but instead they involved HR. This really shows the kind of company it is. I guess I dodged a bullet.
