The interview process was really good, felt very thorough and I learned a lot. The interviewer knew a lot about the industry and asked questions that really showed off my skills and experience. They were very professional and knowledgeable, which made me feel comfortable and excited about the job. I'd definitely recommend working here based on this.

I hadn't even applied for a job at Hunter, but their HR team reached out about a role they thought I'd be a good fit for. I was interested, so I set up an interview and got a confirmation email. Then, on the day of the interview, nobody showed up and I didn't get any calls or emails. I tried to follow up via email, but got no response. Honestly, I would never apply to Hunter again because it seems like they don't respect candidates or their time. For a company that's supposed to be good at communication, their lack of basic communication and responsiveness makes me doubt their whole business. I'd advise other candidates to look elsewhere for jobs.

The interview process was great and lasted about 3 weeks. It kicked off with a phone call with the Recruiting Manager to discuss my interests, experience, and post-grad goals. It felt more like a chat to see where I'd fit best at Hunter. Next, I had a phone interview with the account team, which was also conversational but focused more on my past experiences. Then, I completed a written test that involved creating a press release, a media list, and a media clipping. After that, they asked for references and then extended an offer. I really appreciated how well they communicated throughout the process, keeping me informed about the timeline and what to expect next.

I met with the main team, and they really wanted to hire someone fast. The team seemed nice, but I got a crazy assignment on a Friday at 3:30 PM that was due Tuesday EOD. The assignment had 5 questions, but one really big one asking for a complete social strategy and a full year's paid media plan in a PowerPoint, which felt like they were asking for free work. Plus, the assignment was so unclear, it didn't give enough info to actually do the task, and they took three days to answer my email asking for clarification. There was no way I could meet the Tuesday deadline with that kind of delay, especially since they sent it on a Friday afternoon! Asking for a whole social and digital strategy for free with vague instructions, no clear answers, and a terrible timeline was a major red flag for a bad strategic process that sets people up to fail or produce subpar work. The assignment also had typos, which was weird for a PR company. Seriously, in 2023, are companies still expecting this much free work before offering a job? Also, the job ad said they were flexible on salary based on skills, but when I asked, they said the salary was fixed. For a PR comms company, there was a lot of confusing information.
