The interview process took two months, which felt long. Communication about timelines was unclear. During the interviews, I felt like priorities kept changing and there wasn't a clear strategy or vision. It seemed like they were more reactive, especially with AI, and maybe focused on being acquired. Each interview was only 30 minutes with very little time for my questions at the end, making it feel like just checking boxes rather than a real discussion.

Behavioral Technical

Applied through Linkedin, messaged the job poster and got my first screening in a few days. Then I had an interview with a supervisor, followed by two projects and other interview rounds. It was a really long process, at least 5-6 steps. The recruiter and team members were nice, I liked hearing different perspectives. After two weeks of me following up twice, I finally got an update that they chose someone else with more experience. I get that the market is competitive, but it was a disservice to make me wait two weeks for this news without more feedback. For HUMAN Security's benefit and future candidates, please make better decisions and don't waste people's time.

Behavioral

I felt like this interview was a complete waste of my time, about 45 minutes. The person interviewing me started off by saying she had only been in the role for a few weeks and was too busy to even look at my resume. It made me wonder why the company would put someone so unprepared in charge of an interview. This really gave me a bad impression, and I can only imagine what it's like behind the scenes. Between this and the initial recruiter call where they mentioned layoffs after the merger, I wouldn't feel good about joining this company.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

After I sent in my resume, the recruiter checked it out to see if I was a good fit for the senior payroll manager job. Then, they called me for an initial phone screening where we talked about my background and if I was interested. After that went well, I had some panel interviews with execs, the accounting team, and some of my future peers. They asked me a bunch of questions about managing payroll, leading teams, solving problems, and running payroll operations. They also gave me a technical assessment to check my payroll skills, like analyzing data, fixing tough issues, and using payroll software. I also did a situational interview where they threw some hypothetical payroll problems at me and asked how I'd solve them to see my decision-making skills. Finally, after they looked at everything, they gave me an offer with the details on pay and benefits.
