Behavioral Case Presentation Behavioral

I applied at the end of July '19 and got a quick response. They set up an interview with the Director of Operations where we had a good conversation with basic behavioral questions and one easy case study. The next day, I got an email to visit their Boston office that same week for a presentation where I'd present a mock project and its timeline to a client. Things were moving fast, and I was excited. That same evening, they emailed again, saying since I was from Philadelphia and it was short notice, they wanted me to do another phone interview, this time with the COO. I thought that was a nice gesture, showing they cared about applicants. I was then excited for the COO call, but on the day of the call, I got an email saying I'd actually be talking with the CEO, Matt Hall. This made me even more excited, thinking it showed a flat organization where the CEO cared about the program manager role. But then things took a bad turn. The call with the CEO was very unprofessional. He didn't seem to have my resume or know what role I applied for. He asked me two questions: what case study was presented previously, and what other companies/roles I was looking at. He cut the call right after. I felt he had already decided against me. The following week, I got an email saying I wasn't a good fit. I don't get how that CEO call was the deciding factor, especially if my background wasn't a fit, they wouldn't have invited me for the in-person interview. The questions felt irrelevant and couldn't have changed anything. I still think it would have been different if I'd gone for the in-person interview.

The interview process was as follows: First, I met with the President of the company. Since I was still in school at the time, he suggested I follow up in a few months. The second interview involved meeting with two account managers. The final interview was again with the president.

Behavioral Case Presentation

It started with a recruiter screening call. Then, there was a behavioral/case study interview with a team member, which they had to postpone twice. After that, they had me travel to their office to give a presentation I had to prepare. I put a lot of effort into the deck and took a full day off for the travel. The presentation itself was only 30 minutes long. They said they'd get back to me within two weeks. Three weeks passed with no response. I followed up again, still no word. Finally, six weeks later, they informed me they had hired someone else.
