Behavioral Presentation

This was a 3 interview process, which was pretty unprofessional for a luxury brand. I'd advise against it. The first was an in-person chat with the Irish Area Manager, which was a nice start as expected. Then, I had a phone interview with another region's Area Manager. This person was really rude and talked about themselves for 20 mins, putting down my experience before I could even speak, asking how I could manage a Hugo Boss store without getting customer service there. The third interview was a video call with the Irish AM, Senior HR, and the Retail Director. The Director was 10 mins late, driving a car, with bad phone signal, video cutting out - not ideal. After the 3rd interview, I was told there was a recruitment freeze for a week, which seemed odd for a Flagship SM role. It then continued for a second week. I chased for feedback for 2.5 weeks after interview 3, giving up 5 hours of my time plus a presentation, and was then told I was unsuccessful. The reason given was my lack of 'luxury experience' and how I answered one question about my favourite designer and what they do differently. They said I ticked every other box, but if they can't see past one question, then it's not the brand for me. They also claimed they develop their people, but clearly not me, despite my drive and knowledge, even though they knew about my extensive clothing retail experience (just not luxury). I'm open to feedback, but honestly, Hugo Boss's recruitment process lacked professionalism and respect for candidates. I wish them luck finding their ideal candidate.

Behavioral Case Presentation

The interview process started with a 30-minute chat with a recruitment rep, covering experience and KPIs. Then I had to interview with the Area Manager (AM). I was asked to research the company and do an intense SWOT analysis of the store, though the AM didn't end up asking any questions about the SWOT analysis, which was frustrating. The AM interview focused on past experiences, store results, and outcomes, along with more KPI questions and hypothetical 'what would you do' scenarios. Communication between the recruiter and the AM seemed poor. Overall, it felt like a rather poor interview experience with the boss. They promised feedback in 'a few days' but it took two weeks. The whole process involves four steps before getting a job offer with salary and benefits information.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process involved STAR method questioning, covering both behavioral aspects (focused on team and leadership) and task-oriented scenarios. It's crucial to understand that BOSS is a premium lifestyle brand, and I've noticed many candidates mistakenly refer to it as 'luxury,' which doesn't align with its actual business goals. This is a basic but common error.
