Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Huge.
Senior Software Engineer
It was a great process, and the interviewers were nice and supportive throughout the different steps. There were several steps to test my experience and technical knowledge. The process was straightforward, and they communicated everything clearly.
- There was an interview to test HTML and CSS.
- Then an interview to test JS knowledge.
- The final step was an interview to discuss overall technical experience.
Software Engineer
This was a really bad and negative interview experience at a huge company. I was contacted on LinkedIn for a web dev role, but I told them my background is mostly in mobile development. When I asked for more details about the title, tech stack, and my responsibilities, they were vague, just saying 'Don't worry, we have plenty of roles, so even if you're not a web dev, we have mobile dev jobs too.' Then they sent me a large test project that was advertised as a 2-hour task but ended up taking me 3 days. It involved creating a landing page with lots of animations and various responsive designs. After finishing the project, I never heard back from them. It was very unprofessional and seemed improvised with zero effort on their part. Thanks for wasting my 3 days.
- What are some best practices for web accessibility?
Software Engineer
The interview process consisted of 5 interviews. First, a screening interview with HR to get a basic understanding of your technical and soft skills, including some technical questions. Second, a live coding interview focused on HTML, CSS, accessibility, Best Practices, Semantic HTML, CSS grid system, and Mobile-first approach. Third, another live coding interview for the Js Assessment where you had to explain your code. Fourth, a technical interview with many specific questions to assess your technical knowledge. Fifth, a SoftSkills interview.
- Regarding your JS assessment, which design pattern did you implement?
