First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hudson's Furniture.
Sales Manager
The interview took place on the showroom floor. The manager was very professional and gave a good layout of the job. It was a little puzzling as I did a drug test swab on the floor during business hours, which may be typical but seemed odd to me. I was offered the job but declined as it wasn't quite what I was expecting and looking for.
- Can you share your experience and how it relates to team development?
Sales Associate
It was an easy and long interview process, with very standard questions. I had 4 interviews. The first was a bit uncomfortable because the form they had me fill out asked for a lot of personal information about me and my family, making me think they'd use it to solicit my family for business. I didn't answer those questions, and while surprised, my interviewer moved on. The rest of the interviews were relatively easy.
- What's the most crucial element in closing a sale?
Design Consultant
It was a very professional interview process. I spoke with the store manager and the regional manager. They provided a detailed explanation of the job responsibilities and the compensation package. After the interview, I had the chance to shadow a design consultant, which I found to be very useful.
- Were you available to work on weekends?
Sales Consultant
They started by asking me questions over the phone, then brought me in for a face-to-face interview where they asked more questions. The manager was upfront about expectations, telling me about the pay and benefits right away, and also that I'd have to work every weekend.
- In your opinion, what is the most crucial aspect of sales?
