First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hudson.
Sales Associate
I had a phone call with the Operations manager. It was pretty chill and conversational. They asked me about customer service and dealing with conflicts with coworkers. The call took about 20 minutes, and I got offered the job right then and there.
- Tell me about your customer service experience.
- How would you handle a situation involving conflict with a coworker?
Accountant
I had a phone screen with a recruiter where she asked standard behavioral questions. Then, I met with the hiring manager, but she seemed very uninterested and rescheduled my interview twice. She was looking at her phone and didn't seem engaged. I didn't get any feedback afterward, but I knew it wasn't a good fit after that meeting.
- Can you tell me about your experience using SAP?
General Manager
The interview process involved detailed questions about your background in retail, hiring, merchandising, and planning. They also asked about your accomplishments, giving examples of your planning successes and areas for improvement. You'll discuss sales, shrink, and margin goals, as well as your plans for training both new and existing employees. Be prepared to discuss your strengths and weaknesses.
- How will you manage and reduce shrink?
Operations Manager
They usually hire ops managers internally, which is great. They do ask for resumes sometimes, and upper management is recruited through an external database. The interview itself is pretty standard, asking basic questions. It feels like they already have a strong idea of who they want for the position.
- In what ways will you contribute value to this role?
- What strategies can you employ to manage labor costs and stay within payroll limits?
- What are your learning objectives for this role?
