Technical Behavioral

The technical interviewers were professional and friendly. However, the final HR interview was the worst HR experience I've ever had, showing a major culture mismatch. It was almost rude and felt very one-sided, not giving me a chance to learn about the company. For instance, she was really surprised that I asked about what she liked and felt could be improved at the company, calling it a "strange" question and stating that since she was interviewing me, she couldn't give any judgments about the company to the candidate. She also refused to share their salary range, repeatedly stressing that as the candidate, I shouldn't ask that and should just tell her my current or expected salary. She even directly asked for the minimum I would accept. I'm not sure if this is typical at the company, but candidates should be treated with more respect.

Technical Coding Behavioral

I sent my cv to the hiring manager and got a technical interview with a distributed team. The technical interview was about 1 hour, tough, and focused on Q&A without live coding. Some red flags appeared after the first round when they asked me to connect to a link in 10 minutes, and I wasn't home. The next day, I spoke with an HR person who was 15 minutes late, didn't speak English well, and used translators. She seemed hostile and unaware of the countries involved. The final round was with the head of the center in China, involving general behavioral questions. I received a verbal offer and was told to wait a month, but after 4 months, they never officially responded. Some project workers mentioned I might be hired by a third-party Huawei company if I applied for additional documentation. The whole thing was quite strange.

My interview at Huawei was a really good learning experience, and it was tough too. The people interviewing me asked really specific technical questions and some tough problem-solving questions. They were really professional and nice, and they kept telling me to explain my thoughts clearly and with confidence the whole way through.
