Software Engineer
The interview process is an on-site paper-pencil test. This typically takes about 1 hour to complete. The test is relatively hard. After the exam, the interviewer will ask you several technical questions to test your fundamental knowledge of machine learning, computer vision, and OS system.
- Could you explain the concept of backpropagation and discuss various optimizers?
- How would you go about optimizing a neural network?
- Describe your understanding of backpropagation and famous optimizers, and how to optimize a network.

It was a good experience, the people were nice. First, I met with an engineer and the team leader. We talked about system design and did a coding interview using a whiteboard. We also had some general chatting. After that, I met with the group manager. They told me about the main project, how the team works together, how the project was going, and why they were hiring more people. The last round was with HR. You can ask for more money, but HR might reduce it. They mentioned that the manager had already promised a certain salary level, so you could keep negotiating with HR.
- How would you find a sorted array?
- Design a medium-scale platform.

First, there were two tests. An English test on computer which is like TOEIC but not user-friendly, and computer science/logic questions. The technical questions felt a bit too easy. I got almost full marks and they quickly set up an interview with the manager. They were very proactive in scheduling, which felt respectful. However, the second interview was worse. The manager asked me to present my master research project and asked some trivial questions. He asked about my expected salary, and I think the number I gave scared him. He got angry and argued that a rookie can't contribute enough for that salary. Luckily, I already had a better, more prospective, and well-paid job, so I politely declined the offer.
- What is your expected salary?
