The interview process included a coding and technical round, followed by a technical interview where I was asked basic data science questions, questions about my machine learning projects, and SQL queries for join operations, as well as coding questions on sorting algorithms like bubble sort and merge sort. Then there was a managerial round focusing on teamwork, the reasons behind my projects, and their applications. Finally, an HR interview.

Behavioral Technical Coding Presentation

The interview process had 4 main parts. First, an HR interview where they asked about my interest in moving to London. Then, I had a chat with the Hiring Manager, but honestly, I ended up doing most of the talking because they weren't super familiar with the technical side of the role, which involves pricing with Machine Learning. After that, there was a 2-hour online test covering data science fundamentals, with questions mainly on probability and statistics, ranging from medium to hard difficulty. Finally, there was a coding challenge to complete within an hour, followed by presenting my findings to some ML or data science experts on the team.

Technical Behavioral Presentation

First, I did a technical knowledge test using Google Forms. Then, the interview process began, all virtually due to COVID. It was a lot of interviews: 1. A general call with HR. 2. A general and technical call with the team lead. 3. A call for technical questions and knowledge with a team member. 4. A presentation of a project to a junior group followed by questions. 5. Another project presentation to a less junior group followed by questions. This whole process took about 2-3 months. Then, even though the interviews were great, there was silence. Finally, after a month, I contacted the HR manager who told me they had moved on with other candidates. A week later, a new job offer appeared on LinkedIn for the same title, asking for a profile that perfectly matched my experience and skills.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you tell me about data analysis techniques you know and have used, and provide an example of how you applied them?
  • What project management techniques and software have you used?
