First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Howmet Aerospace.
Journeyman Electrician
The interview process was really efficient and made me feel comfortable. Everyone I met from different departments was super personable and friendly. If you've got a solid understanding of the basics, it should feel pretty natural. Just a heads-up, the aptitude test might have some stuff you'll want to brush up on. Overall, it wasn't an overly intense experience.
- What's the highest voltage you've handled?
- And what's the highest horsepower motor you've worked with?
Engineer
It was a typical engineering interview process. They asked some common questions like your biggest weakness and for a time you worked well with others. Also, some questions about your background and how it fits the role.
- Can you tell me about your biggest weakness?
- Could you describe a project where you had to collaborate effectively with others?
- How does your past experience align with the requirements of this position?
Engineering Intern
If you get selected, you'll be invited to a Panel Interview. This interview is directly with the hiring manager and some colleagues. HR might be there, but not always. The interview is about 30-45 minutes long and will be on Microsoft Teams.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in working here and if you know what our company manufactures?
- Where do you envision yourself in the next five years?
- What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Continuous Improvement Engineer
The interview started with a quick 30-minute online chat asking general questions about my background and what I'm interested in. After that, I had an on-site interview. This included two panel interviews where we dove deeper into my experience. They also asked a lot of questions about my personality and how I work. I got a tour of the facilities too. The team seemed really nice and seemed to really care about seeing if I'd be a good fit.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Describe a situation where you experienced failure and explain your response.
- Which accomplishments give you the most pride?
