Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HOTWORX.
Sales Associate
First, I did an online interview that covered the basic job stuff. Then, I had an in-person meeting where they wanted to learn more about me as a person and see if I'd be a good fit for the team.
- What would you do in this specific sales scenario?
- Can you walk me through how you'd handle a client who's on the fence about buying?
- Tell me about a time you had to convince someone to agree with you.
Sales Associate
The store manager will reach out and conduct the interview. After, the owners will usher out the second portion of the interview. Seemed unable to match wage of $12+/hr (I asked for $15+). Richmond store manager was pleasant but the owners are pretty traditional (dislikes piercings). Emphasis on fitness related experience. I had my interview moved to virtual after I agreed to an in-person appointment, so that threw me off as well.
- What are your 5-year career goals?
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What is essential for closing a sale?
Sales Associate
The manager was super friendly and welcoming right away. It seemed like personality was important to her because she kept asking about my life and what I like to do. We met up at a Starbucks for a pretty casual chat to see if I'd be a good fit.
- Can you describe your previous sales experience and explain how it would be beneficial in this position?
