The interview process was pretty simple. They asked about my past experience in the industry and my skills. Then, they went over the basic skills needed for the job, like how to properly hold plates and stuff.

I submitted an online application, and was then asked to come to the main office with my passport, proof of address, and NI number. There, I participated in a group training session that included an interview and a Q&A with about 12 other people. We were in a separate room and shown how to serve customers and what uniform to wear. The instructor was impatient with those who struggled with English terms. After that, we had one-on-one mini interviews where I was asked brief questions, and my online application was unlocked so I could book shifts.

The interview was about 5 minutes long and I was in a group with 4 other people who didn't speak much English, which made it difficult to know when to answer because the other interviewees kept interrupting. I wish I could have been spoken to individually, but I understand the company's time constraints; it felt like a 'conveyor system' with so many people coming in during my time there. I overheard some staff being offered work without any training and they seemed nervous about it, especially since it was suggested on the same day as their interview. I felt bad for them.
