I went through three interviews. The first was remote with some of the team I'd be working with. Then, I had an in-person interview with a bigger group from the team. The third interview was with HR. It took about a week after the third interview to hear back, so I called to check on my status. They called me back to let me know they were still deciding and hadn't forgotten about me. Ultimately, I got an email three weeks after my last interview saying they went with another candidate. Everyone was really nice and made me feel welcome, and the interviews themselves were pretty pleasant. I was pretty sure I was going to get the job after the third interview, but it didn't work out.

Behavioral Presentation

I always thought HSS was a great place and was excited to apply for one of their openings. My interviews were mostly good, with interviewers who were friendly, engaging, and upfront about the job, who you'd report to, and what was expected. They even had me send my questions before the last interview. But then in the final rounds, things changed and the communication became slow and a bit weird, which I didn't expect. Still, HSS is a good company with great people doing amazing work. I'd recommend applying if you're interested. Even though I didn't get the job, I...

I was interviewed by a 3rd party recruiter and the hiring manager. The first interview was a 30-minute video call where the hiring manager and I introduced ourselves. The second and final interview was a 3+ hour in-person session that included technical assessments. I was told I'd hear back within a week, but after following up a week later with no response (the recruiter also tried with no luck), I followed up again three weeks later and still heard nothing. I was completely ghosted after a friendly interview and exchanges. It was really unprofessional and inconsiderate.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied in February and heard back in mid-June, with interviews starting in early July. I made it to a second interview in late July, then was given a test assignment. After that, I had a third round of interviews in late August with three more people. Then they went silent. I didn't find out about the hiring decision until two weeks after I emailed them, and they said it was made 'some time ago' and I should have been told. I got all other emails, so I'm not sure why that one about choosing another candidate didn't reach me. It's frustrating because they had me meet with 6 people for about 45 minutes each, plus the test assignment, and then didn't even tell me the outcome. Everyone I met was nice, but the whole process felt really disorganized. They told me I interviewed well and had great credentials, but thought the role might be 'too junior for me.' This is strange because they kept saying it was a 'highly visible,' new role reporting to the Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Leadership. They also discussed salary in the first interview and seemed very comfortable with my range, even implying it was low, and sent me benefits info the same day. It's disappointing that there seem to be issues with HR when the hospital has a great reputation for patient care.
